Project Overview

Revamping a Banking App's UX/UI

In a dynamic effort to future-proof and enhance user experience, this project focused on a comprehensive UX/UI overhaul of a banking application. The primary challenge was to reimagine the banking dashboard, initially not designed with extensibility in mind, to accommodate anticipated features and improve overall usability. A pivotal aspect of this transformation was the development and implementation of a robust design system, coupled with the introduction of a user-friendly, persistent bottom slide-out menu across all screens.

My Role

As the Lead Product Manager and Scrum Master, I spearheaded the project, guiding a talented team through the intricacies of design and development. My responsibilities extended beyond project leadership; I represented the product team within the design system group—a collaborative effort among designers, developers, and the marketing team—to ensure a cohesive and effective design strategy that served both the banking app and the upcoming version of our flagship product.

Technologies and Tools Used

Leveraging cutting-edge tools and technologies was crucial to our success. The project employed Figma for design, focused on cross-platform compatibility with iOS, Android, and React Web, and utilized JavaScript for implementation. Miro facilitated our collaborative planning and design thinking processes, enabling a seamless, integrated approach to product development.

The primary hurdle was synchronizing the UX/UI overhaul with the major release of the second version of our flagship product. The design system was critical, requiring a delicate balance to serve both projects without compromise. Through strategic planning, adaptability, and close collaboration across teams, we successfully navigated these challenges, ensuring a cohesive user experience across our product suite.

Results and Impact

The project's success was evident in its immediate and significant impact:
